  • Abba were the winners of the 1974 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.  It was held at the Dome, the Art Deco style concert hall, in Brighton.  The televised event was presented by Katie Boyle. They performed eighth on the evening, singing the English-language version of Waterloo. The single went to number one in the charts in many countries, and reached the top 10 in the United States. The competition entries included:
