EMI Records

The Big Four EMI was one of the big four record companies, until it was acquired by Universal Music in 2012. A congressional hearing was held on the issue, and it was examined by European authorities as well. After several months of debate, American and European regulators approved the takeover of EMI.
Abbey Road Studios EMI signed up the Beatles to make music starting with their first session with George Martin, at Abbey Road Studios in London. On 5 October, 1962, EMI released their first single, Love Me Do on their Parlophone record label.
His Master's Voice The label used the His Master's Voice (HMV) trademark in Britain. They divested their HMV record shops in 1998, with the retail outlet becoming an independent company.
Company Record Sleeves EMI company record sleeves from the 1970's have a red colour with a tan, inset circular pattern.
